Intellectual Disability Care assistant (Support Worker) - Summer Contracts "Term-Time Contracts"Are you a current Nursing/Social Care Student? We are currently recruiting for full 39hrs / part-time 19.5hrs, Fixed Term Summer Contracts across the organisation.June-July-Aug (provision for extension).

Roles available across the service - Support Living - Tallaght, Crumlin, Templeogue, South Dublin, Kildare.

The ID Care Assistant, supports people to live their best life through person centred support. The role focus on providing meaningful experiences and skills development for individuals supported, respecting will and preference. Key to this role is the ability to support people to connect with their community and foster positive social roles.

About Cheeverstown: a voluntary organisation that provides a wide range of residential, respite and day services to almost 400 adults with an intellectual disability in Templeogue and throughout various community locations in South Dublin and Kildare.

Essential criteria:

A FETAC/QQI Level 5 Major Award in Social Care or Healthcare or relevant qualification.

First year of Nursing Studies/Social Care studies completed.

Experience working in the intellectual disability sector would be an advantage.

Person Specification:

Be knowledgeable about the various employment/educational/social supports available and opportunities for community networking.

Commitment to a person-centred approach, community inclusion and the individual needs of the person.

A passion for promoting and empowering those you support.

Proven ability to promote and nurture person-centred support.

Ability to use own initiative in service provision.

Team player with ability to take direction where necessary.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence others.

Flexible and adaptable nature Salary will be reflective of qualifications and level of experience as part of consolidated pay scales.

Please note: All job offers are subject to two successful references, qualifications, ongoing Garda Vetting and a satisfactory pre-employment medical. Salary will be paid at the Care assistant grade on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales, depending on qualifications and experience.
