The Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center (MSTIC) monitors nation-state and criminal actors to safeguard Microsoft and its customers. This challenging task requires persistence and creativity, combining the expertise of intelligence analysts, reverse engineers, developers, and data scientists.

As a Principal Software Engineer in MSTIC, you will translate security insights into practical code to process various threat intelligence signals. We are a dynamic team of skilled engineers looking for innovative talent to join us.

In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of systems for secure and efficient data sharing at scale, collaborating closely with analysts and security researchers to enhance intelligence-focused solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Advanced technical skills in C/C++, C#, and scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, or equivalent
  • Deep understanding of cloud development (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Linux, and containers
  • Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, and software design
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools and practices
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to drive technical designs
  • Passion for learning and problem-solving

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of post-breach compromise domain
  • Experience with big data, data pipelines, and Azure DevOps
  • Familiarity with modern distributed software design patterns and cloud systems architecture
