The Mechanical Principal Engineer – Prime, is responsible for leading the technical execution and delivery of complex power generation projects, ensuring that all designs meet industry standards, project specifications, and client expectations.

Reporting to the Head of Design and Engineering, the Principal Engineer plays a critical role in the companies drive for engineering excellence, by mentoring junior engineers, driving innovation, and ensuring the technical integrity and compliance of power generation projects.

Requirements

·       Technical Oversight: Lead the technical design and execution of power generation projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards, project specifications, and quality benchmarks.

·       Design Review: Conduct detailed design reviews to ensure all engineering deliverables  meet high standards of quality, regulatory compliance, and client expectations.

·       Innovation and Process Improvement: Drive innovation within the engineering team by identifying and implementing new technologies, processes, and best practices that enhance efficiency and project outcomes.

·       Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for AVK, providing expert advice, attending design meetings, and ensuring client requirements are fully understood and met.

·       Technical Documentation: Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of all technical documentation, including design specifications, drawings, and O&M manuals, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

·       Testing and Validation: Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and Integrated System Tests (IST), both domestically and internationally, to validate design integrity.

·       Standards Compliance: Maintain and apply the latest British & International standards in power generation designs, ensuring all projects comply with regulatory and safety requirements.

·       Support Sales and Business Development: Provide technical expertise and support during the bidding process, including the preparation of technical proposals, and assist in business development activities.

·       Continuous Professional Development: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to maintain technical leadership in power generation.
