Your Role

The chosen candidate will showcase robust sourcing strategy skills and effectively utilize them to mitigate business risks, maximize contractual value, and establish proper governance structures. A primary goal will be to handle year-on-year cost reduction initiatives and achieve cost savings targets as agreed. Collaborating with business functions to ensure an optimal Supplier Performance Management (SPM) program is essential, which involves establishing tailored performance metrics with each supplier through supplier scorecards and dashboards. Additionally, engaging in regular supplier review processes with key operational stakeholders.

Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Ensuring all spends are optimally sourced and managed in line with Zurich governance and risk policies.
  • Driving Zurich's cost reduction efforts and realizing cost savings for the business.
  • Conducting appropriate due diligence on all sourcing activities.
  • Executing sourcing events using the most suitable tools/channels.
  • Developing category management strategies across all spend areas.
  • Being a source of expert market and supplier knowledge for each spend category.
  • Gathering qualitative and quantitative data from internal and external networking/benchmarking.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with operational and senior stakeholders to grasp and shape business requirements.
  • Actively supporting Zurich's Sustainability and Social Enterprise agenda by implementing the Supplier Code of Conduct and fostering partnerships in the Social Enterprise sector.

Your Skills and Experience

To be eligible for this role, you must possess proven sourcing and procurement management skills, with the ability to engage, communicate, and exchange ideas effectively with colleagues and suppliers across different organizational levels.

As part of the selection process, the successful candidate is expected to demonstrate the following qualities:

  • Team-oriented, demonstrating collaborative and leadership capabilities.
  • Action-oriented with a drive to instigate change and tackle challenges energetically.
  • Preferably hold a degree-level qualification or a relevant certification such as IIPMM/CIPS.
  • Experienced Project Manager.
  • Highly self-motivated and customer-focused, with at least 5 years of experience in procurement and sourcing, including relevant roles in category management within large/medium-sized organizations.
  • Familiarity with online sourcing tools and leading sourcing methodologies like Coupa.
  • Ability to efficiently handle large volumes of spending data, generate clear and effective recommendations swiftly, and present them to senior business stakeholders.
  • Proactively engage with the business and supply market, willing to challenge existing practices within the organization.
  • Proven capability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with adeptness in writing articulate reports for executive-level review.
