Team Horizon is hiring a Senior Utility Project Engineer for a top pharmaceutical company in Dublin

This role will be part of the Capital Projects team, where the chosen candidate will act as the System Owner for specific Equipment Systems managed by the projects group.

The Utility Project Engineer will report to the Senior Manager for Strategic Engineering Projects and will oversee the scoping and execution of technical projects in utility areas supporting all facility functions including:

  • Clean Utilities (WFI, Clean Steam, Purified Water, Process Air, Nitrogen)
  • Other Utilities (Glycol, HVAC, Instrument Air, Water Systems [e.g. Service, chilled, potable, LPHW], Process Waste)
  • Controlled temperature Units like incubators, fridges, and freezers
  • Associated qualified and non-qualified control systems

This encompasses commissioning and qualification of new equipment and upgrades, with prior experience in GMP environments being essential.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing and executing assigned projects, including prioritization, resource management, status tracking, and external communication.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to define project scopes and ensure requirements are met throughout all project phases.
  • Coordinating the implementation of new processes, equipment, and materials while proactively solving equipment issues before qualification and start-up.
  • Supporting maintenance program development, spare parts inventory optimization, and change control management within project scope.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary teams, developing specifications, engineering documents, protocols, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborating with various team members to conduct equipment upgrades and retrofits, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Relevant Field
  • 3+ years of engineering experience within a GMP manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in similar technical roles
  • Experience in GDP compliance, MS Office, MS Project, Change Control, and Document Management Systems
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, deliver technical solutions, and drive improvements
  • Effective leadership and team collaboration skills, emphasizing interdependence and results-driven culture
  • Proficiency in technical report writing, communication, presentation, and data-driven decision-making
  • Capability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
