Take the lead on a global mission to enhance incident software and processes, aiming to constantly elevate customer availability experience on AWS.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and implement a long-term strategy for incident software utilized by AWS resolvers, service leaders, and senior management.
  • Maintain a high standard of operational excellence for incident tooling, ensuring its reliability during significant events.
  • Manage and develop a global team responsible for operating incident software and handling large-scale incidents.
  • Promote best practices for incident resolution throughout AWS.
A Day in the Life:

Exercise independent and strategic thinking with a focus on long-term goals, exercising sound judgment and empathy. Regularly engage with your team to shape the direction of the incident tooling roadmap.

Review metrics and responses from past incidents to glean insights, acknowledge successes, and stay connected to the details.

Hold discussions with team members to provide guidance on their work and career progression while valuing their input. Integrate feedback from your team and customers into your operational approach.

Participate in organizational operational meetings to showcase your team's achievements and learn from other teams.

Collaborate with upstream services and customers to enhance mutual areas of interest.

The RIS team is dedicated to minimizing the impact and duration of customer incidents, focusing on incident tooling, response, mitigation, and prevention.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in engineering and team management.
  • Background in planning, designing, and delivering consumer software.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple concurrent programs and projects in an Agile setting.

  • Experience collaborating with product and program management teams.
  • Skills in designing and developing large-scale, high-traffic applications.
