Purpose of the Role:

Keelings is hiring a Transport Team Manager to join our Team on a 1-year maternity cover.

Reporting to the National Transport Manager, the responsibilities of the role will include:

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

Organizing driver and vehicle routes

Completing daily schedules

Completing driver's rosters and agreeing same.

Recording drivers house on spread sheets.

Ensuring that vehicle maintenance is carried out as schedule and in line with company guidelines keeping to statutory requirements.

Ensuring that current standards of health and safety are met and exceeded.

Undertake incident control and investigation as required in line with company procedures.

Dealing with all relevant customers' requirements.

To identify and implement increased efficiencies in order to maximize our service offering.

To work in partnership with customers (both internal and external) to ensure optional service levels at all times.

To act as the interface between the transport function and other functions as necessary to ensure a seamless provision of service.

Ongoing review of the transport function in order to devises and implement optimal transport solutions

To ensure that all drivers and trucks and trailers are well presented and that drivers skills in relation to performance and customer care reflect the correct image of the company.

To assist the inbound department where necessary

Cover in both transport inbound and warehouse were necessary

Complete weekly figures and KPI as required by the business.

Recording driver's hours, haulier costs and extra costs incurred by the business each day.

Recording all customers DOT and completion of the end of shift in a timely manner.

Any other duties / tasks as outlined by your Manager.

Flexibility is required to work shift work and to work outside of normal hours to suit the requirements of the Business.

On call after hours to deal with any issue which may arise.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Weekly budget targets CPCDOT (delivered on time) target or 97% or better100% compliant in all aspects of transport Team work, good communications and clear handovers

Key Skills & Knowledge

Essential:

Full clean B license is necessary

At least 2 years' experience within the Transport/Logistics industry

Experience in European and national work

Experience with inbound and outbound logistics

Experience in preparing and managing budgets/KPI's

Good IT skills - competent in the use of Microsoft Office Applications

Good communication skills

Good planning and organizing skills

Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative

Ability to work and act under pressure

Desirable:

Qualification in Logistics Management would be an advantage

Possession of CPC would be desirable although not essential.

Education & Qualifications:

Experience of transport supervision and traffic planning

Additional relevant information:

Must have their own transport to come to work
