Job Description:
The UPS Healthcare Accounting Manager will be part of the Healthcare Accounting Team, initially supporting Marken Accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for actively supporting the non-GAC migrated UPS Healthcare business units from Accounting perspective, as well as assisting with the management activities within the UPS Healthcare Accounting team located in Dublin.
Job duties:
Manage and support local non-GAC migrated teams with record-to-report (R2R) activities
Manage and oversee work of the UPS Healthcare Accounting team members
Review and approval of journal entries and reconciliations
Oversee smooth running of high quality and timely month end close
Support process management and improvement
Support migration of in scope R2R work to the BPP
Manage reporting and stakeholder communication
Identification and resolution of risks in a timely manner
Assess, understand and manage interdependencies between work streams
Support/Review monthly variance explanations for SOX purposes
Work collaboratively with Accounting, Finance and other stakeholders to resolve issues
Provide overall department support and assist with ad hoc needs and requests
Qualified candidates will have the following Key Skills:
- Excellent communication, organisational, and influencing skills
- High levels of energy and commitment to hitting deadlines
- Must be able and willing to travel
- Must be an excellent team player and provide leadership to project stakeholders
- Will actively seek out efficiencies and work with stakeholders to formulate and drive solutions
- Self-starter, capable of using initiative
- Strong capacity to communicate actions, implications of data and drive action
- Ability to embrace and contribute to culture of process improvement
- Robust evaluation and critical thinking skills
- Qualified or partly qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) & Bachelor's degree
