SK biotek Ireland are seeking to recruit a Reliability Engineer to join the Maintenance Department based in Swords, Co. Dublin on a temporary 12 month basis through CPL.

Key responsibilities

The Reliability Engineer act as a key technical person responsible for resolution of repetitive failures and long term issues and to define the reliability strategy relating to their area of expertise

The role will assist with the identification of engineering solutions that will improve operational reliability of production processes and assisting the Maintenance Team in their implementation as well as develop, implement and promote the use of reliability principles across the maintenance group including RCM, FMEA, DfR, PdM and PM optimisation. In addition, the role will be responsible for the provision of technical support to the Maintenance teams on site along with participation and providing technical support and expertise for departmental teams, cross functional teams and company initiatives.

The role will also involve:

  • Project Manage the Preventive Maintenance Optimisation Project onsite based on the Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) concepts and define best maintenance strategy and condition monitoring tools to be applied for each asset.
  • Assist on the implementation of Predictive/Prescriptive maintenance and Maintenance 4.0 strategies. Analyse historical and real-time operational data from PI System and convert into maintenance insights to predict failures by using PI Vision, PI AF (Asset Framework), CMMS (Maximo) and Analytics platforms (Excel, SpotFire, PowerBi).
  • Compile reliability data and report on equipment performance, such as: Plant Availability, Plant utilization, Failure Rates, MTBF, MTTR, Spares usage, CM's trends, PM:CM ratio, PdM trends, etc. and provide detailed written reports/metrics on a monthly basis, as required.
  • Support the day to day maintenance planning, maintenance engineering, vendor's management, MRO spares parts optimisation and assist on the implementation of new capital projects on site by applying Design for Reliability (DfR) concepts and maintenance/reliability best practices.
  • Review failure report for all Corrective Maintenance activities to ensure all re-occurring issues are resolved through effective RCA and CAPAs. Lead Root Cause Analysis and assisting in the investigation and resolution of electrical, instrumentation and mechanical issues on process equipment and support compliance efforts related to Safety Events, Quality Events, CAPAs, change management and investigations.
  • Ensure that maintenance routines, procedures, and work plans are developed to the necessary standards for best practice and ensure compliance with GMP and EHS regulations.

Education & Experience

  • The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate a proven track record in Maintenance/Reliability and Continuous Improvement projects, strong data analytics skills, a good knowledge of mechanical systems and display developed trouble shooting abilities with high level of attention to detail, strong problem solving abilities and able to analyse equipment data and identify failure's root cause.
  • The successful candidate must possess at minimum a Level 7 Engineering qualification or equivalent coupled with at least 5 years' experience in a relevant role preferably in the pharmaceutical, chemical or related industry. Applicants with a background in Maintenance Engineering and/or Asset Management should also consider applying.
  • Experience with maintenance strategy optimisation, availability simulation, reliability excellence, Weibull Analysis and Life Cycle Engineering.
  • Experience in the use of computerized Reliability Simulation software and/or data analytics and machine learning is a distinct advantage.
  • Work experience with data analytics with proficiency in Excel (Advanced & Data Modelling), SpotFire, Minitab or PowerBi will be a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a cross functional collaborative environment.
