What does an outstanding Associate Technical Product Manager do?

We are currently looking for an Associate Technical Product Manager to join our dynamic Global Product Management team. If you are seeking daily challenges, enjoy collaborating with a team to solve complex issues in the travel industry, and have a passion for managing products that facilitate real-time transactions across multiple systems worldwide, then this role could be perfect for you.

Technical Product Managers at Travelport are responsible for delivering features based on the priorities set by the Product Manager. The Associate Technical Product Manager will collaborate closely with a software engineering team to refine feature details and ensure successful delivery based on requirements. This role also involves promoting continuous improvement within our Agile Product Delivery approach to provide a constant stream of services and value to our customers.

The Associate Technical Product Manager – Unattended Agency Automation will work with Technical Product Managers to understand the daily tasks of travel agencies and use this knowledge to enhance Travelport's suite of Robotic Process Automation systems, making our agency customers more efficient.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure successful product delivery by implementing best practices in an Agile environment.
  • Collaborate with Technical Product Managers to coordinate with the Product Manager and Engineering team, ensuring new tasks are added to the backlog and prioritized across the Delivery Group.
  • Transform requirements into user stories by working with internal and external stakeholders, collaborating with development teams to implement user stories, including undocumented edge cases and non-functional requirements.
  • Ensure team understanding and alignment in sprint tasks.
  • Prioritize the team backlog and define User Acceptance Criteria.
  • Participate in sprint meetings and ensure team tasks reflect the prioritized backlogs.
  • Accountable for system demos and developing in-depth product knowledge.
  • Focus on maximizing value for the customer and understanding market needs.

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate for this role?

  • Experience as a Technical Product Manager, Product Owner, or Business Analyst.
  • Understanding of Agile principles and technical concepts.
  • Experience in providing online documentation to external users.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Desire to work collaboratively with teams worldwide.
  • Ability to influence and facilitate conversations among cross-functional teams.
  • Capacity to bring diverse opinions together and seek consensus among stakeholders.
  • Experience in conflict resolution and influencing internal stakeholders.
  • Preferred experience in the travel industry.
  • Language requirement: English proficiency.
