Job Summary

:

In this role you will report to the Senior Automation Engineer to support the Automation team within West Dublin Contract Manufacturing in growing the customer accounts by providing 'Best in Class's customer support and service. The role will also support the development of new business with new and existing accounts. Acting as lead technical support for assigned production assets. Responsible for the implementation of manufacturing solutions to meet the requirements of customers' product specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Working closely with the SME to optimize the effectiveness of the Technician team to maximize OEE. Lead action plans to improve equipment performance, maximizing equipment availability for production. Self-supervising within the guidance and expectations of direct management. Ability to coach, mentor and lead a team of technicians. Ensure each Technician has the appropriate tools and knowledge to allow them to perform effectively. Develop the skills & technical expertise of the Technician Team. Work with Spare Parts Team to optimize spare parts inventory, cost, supplier reduction, etc. Schedule & Co-ordinate maintenance activity (preventative & corrective) to ensure compliance and maximize output Assist in process development and validation through design and execution of structured test protocols. Work on the implementation of the manufacturing strategy to meet customer and West's needs. Participate in project teams, identifying deliverables, time, and cost setting priorities and reporting to meet the needs of the business and the customer. Supports West's relationships with the customers and equipment suppliers. Ensure that equipment meets the regulatory requirements of the business at all times. Validation, health and safety etc. Support the installation of equipment with appropriate training and hand over to operations Manage PM and Calibration schedule for assigned production assets. Carry out maintenance of equipment where needed Act in accordance with the company's Values and adherence to the corporate Code of Conduct. Compliance to all site Environmental, Health and Safety requirements, training, and regulations. Compliance to all local site company policies, procedures, and corporate policies. Perform additional duties at the request of the direct supervisor

Basic Qualifications:

Must have a minimum of a NFQ Level 7 Qualification or equivalent degree in an engineering relevant discipline. Candidates with exceptional and relevant work experience may also be considered in lieu of degree qualifications.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ideally will have at least 5 plus years' experience in supporting high volume assembly machines and supporting technical improvement projects. Have a good understanding of Manufacturing Automation, and ideally in Machine design, Development and Validation Process. Preferably worked in either the Medical, Packaging, or technological industries with a good understanding of the regulatory requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills across all levels and various departments of the company. Strong skills in completing tasks, problem solving and critical thinking Good data analytical skills Ability to effectively work as part of a multi-disciplined and multi-cultural team in a business-to-business environment. Ability to work in a fast-paced and pressurised environment to meet tight deadlines. Detail orientated and ability to self-manage and motivate by organizing and prioritise tasks Flexible and adaptable as required by the position.

Travel Requirements:

Very minimal travel required, may be some in relation to new equipment and training purposes

Physical & Mental Requirements:

Good team worker as well as ability to work independently May be required at times to carry equipment/materials- good hand-eye coordination skills Applies appropriate judgment to resolve routine situations. Writes clear, concise, and neat information. Foresight and planning abilities to multitask and manage competing priorities.
