Role Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled IT Application Support Manager to oversee and maintain our company's applications portfolio.
The IT Application Support Manager will be accountable for ensuring efficient operations of all application systems, driving process enhancements, system upgrades, and introducing new software solutions when necessary.
This role collaborates closely with project sponsors, business users, technical resources (both internal and third-party vendors), senior management, and executives to deliver and support applications that cater to the needs of business users and promote continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate should have a solid technical background, exceptional communication skills, and prior experience in managing software implementations.
Key Contribution Areas:
- Manage all aspects of the company's application portfolio, involving software selection, installation, customization, integration, and maintenance.
- Establish and enforce application support policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure smooth functioning and prompt issue resolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and develop new software solutions.
- Supervise the implementation of new software solutions, including project planning, resource allocation, and risk management.
- Ensure optimal performance and availability of all applications while promptly addressing any issues to minimize downtime.
- Ensure proper integration of applications with other IT systems and smooth data flow between applications.
- Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiation and issue resolution.
- Monitor and report on application support metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and manage IT application budgets, ensuring compliance with policies and security standards.
Personal Capabilities Required:
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- High levels of enthusiasm, commitment, and energy with a results-oriented and adaptable approach.
- Strong customer focus and cultural awareness.
- Experience in defining and implementing application support processes.
- Project management skills and experience working with stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and creative thinking.
- Strong technical skills in application support.
Functional or Technical Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in application support, including 2 years in a managerial role.
- Experience with cloud-based applications and environments is advantageous.
- Insurance or Financial Services experience is a plus.
- Proven track record in application support and project delivery.
