Job Description

You have exceptional front-end JavaScript experience and are enthusiastic about creating excellent user experiences, excited about new front-end technologies, and ready to push the boundaries of what is achievable. You love challenges and opportunities, have innovative ideas, and are passionate about working with the latest technologies like WebComponents, React, Redux, and GraphQL. As a team player, you will collaborate with experienced colleagues to enhance the technology stack and deliver modern and exceptional user experiences for our customers. You should have a solid understanding of developing amazing, scalable, and high-performance user interfaces with extensive data, a keen eye for design aesthetics, and a commitment to engineering excellence.
The role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will collaborate with a skilled team of developers to build Health and Safety applications. This team drives innovation, features, and the architecture of powerful applications used by numerous Fortune 500 companies. You will have the chance to work with exciting technologies such as mobile, UI componentry, Generative AI, workflow & automation, and developer tools & IDE.

  • You will develop software that directly impacts customer productivity and features that enhance customer efficiency in their work
  • Enhance the ServiceNow Platform with highly interactive web-based application UIs that can scale with application complexity
  • You will leverage your expertise in building modern web experiences, performance, architecture, and object-oriented design to expand our platform's capabilities
  • Evolve existing User Interfaces to enhance interactivity, intuitiveness, performance, and overall user satisfaction
  • Create tools, libraries, and frameworks for fellow developers to build upon
  • Collaborate with excellent UX designers and back-end developers (Services and Database) to ensure seamless workflow and work full stack to utilize our platform for back-end services and data models
  • Apply new technology and innovation to enhance platform functionality
  • Strictly follow best coding practices, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior team members
  • Participate in design and customer discussions, closely collaborating with Product Management to understand business requirements and propose solutions
  • Provide an exceptional experience for our customers
  • Join the team working on Health and Safety products

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

  • 4+ years of experience with JavaScript and front-end / full-stack development
  • Passion for the Web as a platform, reusability, and componentization
  • Experience with Java or other Object-Oriented languages
  • Experience with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations
  • Experience with modern UI frameworks like Angular, React, or Vue
  • Strong analytical and design skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into functional solutions
  • Capability to lead projects with significant technical risks at a team level and guide other team members to success
