Location: Springfield Family Hub, Tallaght, Dublin 24

Reporting to: Family Hub Service Manager

Terms: Permanent Contract - 40 hours per week (flexible Monday to Sunday)

Hourly Rate: €16.90

Job Purpose:

To be part of a team that supports families in Supported Temporary Accommodation (STA) in finding long-term housing solutions.

Core duties and responsibilities:

  • Admit families to the service, ensuring they receive a thorough induction and warm welcome.
  • Support families in securing tenancies by assisting them in finding suitable properties, including guiding them on property searches, contacting landlords, and visiting properties.
  • Accompany families to property viewings, assist in negotiations with landlords, and ensure properties meet safety standards and suit the family's needs.
  • Help families understand and complete Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) procedures.
  • Ensure families comprehend tenancy conditions, negotiate rents, and finalize agreements with landlords.
  • Conduct assessments and create support plans with families.
  • Update the Pathway Accommodation & Support System (PASS) as needed.
  • Help families access local services such as medical care, welfare, training, education, and employment, advocating on their behalf.
  • Establish relationships with local services and agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports when necessary.
  • Adhere to professional boundaries and conduct oneself professionally at all times.
  • Participate in team meetings and continuous professional development sessions.
  • Respond to safety and security incidents, following proper service procedures and documenting incidents as required.
  • Perform security checks, including property, occupancy, and room inspections.
  • Maintain high standards of the environment consistently.
  • Tasks may vary from time to time beyond the listed ones.

Person specification:

  • Hold a relevant Level 7 Qualification in areas such as Social Care, Social Policy, Addiction Studies, Social Science, Housing & Welfare.
  • Knowledge of Pathways to Home, HAP, HNAs, and SLI.
  • Minimum of one year's experience in homelessness support, with knowledge of homelessness causes, services, addiction, and mental health.
  • Experience in handling complex situations in client-based services.
  • Familiarity with Child Protection protocols.
  • Ability to interact with clients in a non-judgmental and respectful manner.
  • Work within clear professional boundaries.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
  • Highly motivated, reliable, and flexible.
  • Availability for rostered evening and weekend shifts.
  • Garda Vetting will be ongoing.
