What is the opportunity:

The person in this role ensures risks involved in operating the mechanical and electrical systems are controlled or mitigated to provide a robust and secure environment for critical IT infrastructure 365/7.

In this role you will:
  • Plan and deliver daily operations and all project related activity. You are responsible for the supervision of any project activity undertaken by subcontractors and will liaise closely with the Engineering and Energy Manager and the rest of the engineering team.
  • Operation, maintenance, and repair of all critical environment M&E systems while maintaining 100% uptime to all critical power and air conditioning systems.
  • Monitor electrical load across all points of power distribution to ensure the draw across UPS units and electrical phases are balanced.
  • Alignment to all quality, health & safety, and environmental policies within the DC, experience with ISO14001 & ISO50001 management systems would be advantageous as the role requires the application of standardised energy management system processes and procedures.
  • Coordinate and supervise scheduled project work to support third parties such as Kyndryl , Systal & BT via Change Approval Board and hardware request implementation.
What will make you stand out:
  • Recognised qualification to technician level (minimum) in mechanical, electrical or building engineering services.
  • Working knowledge of ISO management systems.
  • Computer literate on MS Office software
  • Working knowledge of H&S regulations applicable to the role
  • Working knowledge of BMS systems
