Consumer Protection Analyst

This position will focus on the Consumer Protection Product Program to ensure support to the Business and Product teams in onboarding and successfully rolling out WU products, including but not limited to, Money Transfer, Digital Banking, and Foreign Exchange initiatives. The role requires cross-functional collaboration with Product, Business, Legal, Marketing, Regional Compliance, and Operations to ensure all product launches comply with consumer protection compliance regulations and WU policies. The role also provides expert advice and guidance to the Business units in the support of products through pre-launch and post-launch phases.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing support to the Consumer Protection Compliance & Fraud Risk Management Senior Manager in delivering priorities and strategic plans for the Consumer Protection Compliance Program in the region.
  • Conduct Consumer Protection Product Risk Reviews.
  • Ensure continuous improvement through review and challenge of policies, processes, training, and operational issues that impact consumer protection regulations.
  • Prepare detailed reports and recommendations based on investigative findings and present them to senior management.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of consumer protection policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Provide education and outreach to consumers, businesses, and other stakeholders on consumer rights and responsibilities.
  • Stay current with changes in consumer protection laws, regulations, and industry trends.

Role Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in consumer protection, compliance, or regulatory analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in law, business, or relevant field.
  • Familiarity with financial products/services (retail/digital/banking).
  • Familiarity with Consumer Protection regulations within the banking/financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with the product development lifecycle and main requirements in financial services, including product risk assessments.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders. Collaborative mindset to work effectively with cross-functional teams including Legal, Business, Product, and Marketing departments.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess regulatory requirements and their impact on the business.
  • Proven track record of moderately complex problem-solving and decision-making ability.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Effective team player with the ability to work independently as required.
  • Effective communicator, both orally and in writing (English is a must, other languages are a plus).
