Purpose Statement

Supports Global Sourcing function by executing sourcing events from end to end and providing ad hoc analysis to Strategic Sourcing management.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain supplier performance review metrics & scorecards.
  2. Provide periodic and ad hoc spend analysis reports.
  3. Execute sourcing events from end to end, including:
    1. Price negotiations.
    2. Vendor quote tracking.
    3. Supplier selection.
    4. Contract review and approval.
  4. Takes a strategic and long-term view of sourcing in identifying and developing innovative sources and contracts:
    1. Supports and drives the stakeholder alignment.
    2. Supports the stakeholder identification.
    3. Engages and ensures input from the stakeholders throughout the sourcing process.
  5. Supports Sourcing Managers in the strategic planning and project sourcing execution process:
    1. Set up requirements for data analysis, identify the right sources of information and sets up the channels to get the right information to the right person.
    2. Coordinate the analytics of internal and external data and e-sourcing support.
    3. Support development of Go-To-Market and negotiation strategies.
    4. Provide support during the supplier screening and supplier selection process.
    5. Performs supplier analysis, including supplier financials and capabilities using available and defined sources of information.
    6. Leads supplier Performance development activities and Management reviews.
  6. Performs Sourcing and Category Management activities for projects with limited complexity:
    1. Executes end-to-end sourcing projects for less complex categories (in alignment with the Global Manager Sourcing).
    2. Partner with suppliers and stakeholders to purchase goods and services at an optimal price concurrent with maintaining Boston Scientific Quality standards.
    3. Defines and prepares sourcing event documentation inclusive of requirements, specifications, and inputs.
    4. Support suppliers and the organization throughout the process by resolving inquiries and disputes.
    5. Adhere to company policies, Sourcing, Finance, Quality, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and all Corporate policies.
    6. Ensure compliance with the Boston Scientific Quality System and Approved Vendor List.
    7. Analyse frequent spend and develop recommendations for improvement in cost and process.
  7. Responsible for achieving annual cost savings and value contribution targets.
  8. Negotiate favorable payment terms with suppliers:
    1. Monitors and communicates quality and delivery performance to the supplier.
    2. Obtains bids to promote a competitive environment (locates, interviews, analyzes and evaluates vendor capabilities to select suppliers, partners with these suppliers to maximize company funds).
    3. Responsible for resolving supplier-related problems (works closely with suppliers to assure a positive and professional relationship, always establishing and maintaining open lines of communication).
    4. Maintains awareness of market trends pertaining to their responsibility.
  9. Proactively engage with Stakeholders/Business leaders and the Global / Regional Indirect Sourcing Team to understand, create alignment and achieve their business strategies and objectives.
  10. Other Ad hoc or recurring assignments as the needs of stakeholders evolve.

Qualifications & Experience

  1. NFQ level 8 in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or any other similar discipline.
  2. Min 3-5 years experience in a similar role.
  3. Medical Device experience would be desirable.
  4. Engineering background would be desirable but not essential.
  5. Strong relationship building and stakeholder management experience.
