Overview
Design Build Search is seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager for a permanent position based in Dublin 12.
This role is best suited to an individual with a civil engineering background.
The selected candidate will oversee and coordinate construction activities on-site, focusing on efficiency, safety, and adherence to established standards and schedules to ensure successful project execution.
Our client stands at the forefront of civil engineering in Ireland, delivering exceptional infrastructure projects across a variety of sectors.
Responsibilities
Review project plans and requirements and produce a detailed baseline programme on Microsoft Project.
Track programme regularly and issue updates to the client.
Identify critical path delays, demonstrate them on the programme, and negotiate extensions of time where required with the client.
Review project pricing and track internal costs to ensure the project is delivered as priced and can be completed within the required budget.
Identify areas where the project is losing money, determine root causes, and develop strategies to mitigate.
Understand what is included in the project contract/price and identify project variations; negotiate additional costs where required with the client.
Review contract documentation and communicate required notices to the client within specified timeframes.
Line manager for Site Agent, Project Engineer and QS; responsible for all workers on site through Site Agent.
Review and approve monthly progress claims.
Review and approve Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and other pre-construction HS documentation.
Carry out regular HS and quality audits.
Identify design issues and communicate these to the client with proposed solutions.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Project Manager in civil engineering or construction projects, with utilities experience and working within the road corridor preferred.
Excellent computer skills with detailed knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Project.
Background in civil engineering preferred.
