Mechanical Project/Contracts Manager I am delighted to be assisting an engineering company that is a bit different from the rest. Our client works on new construction projects for very well-known companies in Ireland in the Pharmaceutical, Food and beverage, and Medical Device industries. However, they also base themselves on some of their client sites, providing process engineering services. So, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who is working on the contractor side and looking to move more towards the client side. We are looking for a Mechanical Project/Contracts Manager for a new pharmaceutical project in Kerry. Meet your potential new employer? Our client has an excellent reputation in Ireland. They have a very low turnover of staff, and this is down to an open-door policy. They are a big well-known company but is still not too huge it has lost its culture. It is a flat organisation so will be working with senior management, which could open more doors for your career. In relation to recruitment, they are not a bums-on-seat company. They are very particular about who they want to join their team. Keeping their culture for them is crucial. They do not interview or hire staff easily. They look for people who will work with them long-term. They work with a lot of clients continuously for years, so it is important to keep those relationships good. They only hire the best They offer a competitive package and do not lose many people due to salary or benefits. They want to find the best staff for their company. The Role Manage multiple mechanical contracts simultaneously, including planning, budgeting, and scheduling of projects from conception to completion. Coordinate with design and engineering teams to ensure that all projects meet client specifications and are delivered on time and within budget. Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, identify and resolve issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Establish and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, and negotiate contracts and agreements as needed. Manage the financial aspects of each project, including cost control, budgeting, and forecasting. Ensure that all work complies with relevant legislation, codes, and standards, including health and safety regulations. Liaise with internal departments to ensure that all projects are delivered on time and within budget. Support in preparing proposals and bids for new projects. Ensure structures are put in place to monitor, review and control the budgeted or agreed expenditure. Implement cost and value procedures and ensure that all necessary commercial reports are produced accurately and in a timely fashion to Senior Management Work closely with the Directors and Site Managers to support and recommend strategies, to identify any potential risks or issues and to find an appropriate resolution. Issue monthly progress reports for Senior Management/Directors Work collaboratively with Senior Management / Directors to continue to achieve business needs. Foster productive, collaborative partnerships with internal and external Clients Experience Required A mechanical background with a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 10+ years of experience as a Project / Contracts Manager. Knowledge of Mechanical, HVAC and Process systems, including their design, installation, and operation. Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work well under pressure. Must be able to travel within Europe. A full driving license.
