The Opportunity
Arup Ireland are seeking talentedstudents to join our Roads and Streets team.
We look for students who are ready to jump into the professional world; diverse individuals with inquisitive minds and a desire to challenge.
You will work alongside skilled professionals and contribute to the success of real projects.
You will also enjoy learning sessions withtechnical experts within yourteam, working on local projects and all kinds of social events.
A role in the Roads and Streets team will include design and coordination, often liaising with other multi-disciplinary contributors to projects.
You will be required to deliver projects to the required technical standards in a timely manner, reporting to the team leader or project manager as appropriate.
As a Work Placement Student part of the Roads and Streets team at Arup, you will:
Prepare technical designs for projects, including geometrical alignment and drainage, drawings, reports, correspondence, and other outputs in accordance with approved design standards and procedures in line with the delivery programme.
Ensure that relevant legislation, regulations, policies, strategies, and technical guidance is interpreted, followed and communicated across the team with guidance from senior members of staff.
Implement the appropriate QA procedures for all deliverables and ensure compliance with H&S requirements; and
Communicate effectively and in a team environment with a broad cross-section of individuals.
This would typically include but is not limited to; roads and streets colleagues andproject managers, other internal design disciplines, clients and contractors.
Some of our teams exciting projects:
Rural and Urban Road Improvement Schemes working for Transport Infrastructure Ireland and local authorities.
Active Travel, Greenways & Public Transport Priority Projects, andDevelopment of TII Design Standards and associated research projects.
Design and Build / PPP projects working for leading Irish and overseas contractors.
