Christophers ServicesSt. Christopher's Service provides a person centred, comprehensive, efficient, and innovative service to people with intellectual disabilities in the County Longford.We currently provide Day and Residential Services to Adults and Children.We deliver a high quality, community-based service, based on identified individualised needs, enabling service users to reach their fullest potential..St. Christopher's Day Services offers a diverse range of options to support people to lead a full and meaningful life.By exploring their personal preferences, gifts, talents and interests they are supported to develop skills and gain experience that will allow them to realise valued social roles and live the life of their choosing.We are looking for motivated staff who are committed to supporting people with disabilities to live their best life and plan for their future in line with our Mission, Vision and Values and National StandardsNew Directions - Person Centred Planning Lead35 Hours Per Week - ( Part time hours may be considered)Specified Purpose Contract 9 month to 1 year - commencing September ****The New Directions-Person-Centered Planning Lead will have the responsibility for implementing the national framework and empowering staff to support individuals in the development of their plans to live ordinary lives.We are seeking applications from dynamic, innovative & motivated persons to fill this post.SALARY SCALE:Senior Supervisor Salary Scale(October ****)NB: Should you have no prior public sector experience you will be placed on point 1 of the pay-scale above.Qualification:Suitable candidates will be educated to degree level.Ideally candidates will have education and training in Person Centred Planning, communication, advocacy, inclusion and social role valorisation, train the trainer, and will have an in dept knowledge in the New Directions Interim Standards and the National framework for Person- Centered Planning in Services for Persons with a Disability.Experience :Up to date knowledge of best practice in the field of health and social care.Experience working with adults with an Intellectual Disability and experience working in the Social Care/Nursing Sector.Ability to focus on the needs of one individual rather than a group.Experience of supported decision makingUnderlying advocacy values and beliefs.Experience of supporting people using different types of advocacy e.g. group advocacy / self -advocacy.Experience of gathering and recording evidence.Knowledge of how to set SMART goals.Ability to reflect on one's practice.Working together with families.Knowledge and understanding of New Directions Interim Standards and National framework for Person- Centered Planning in Services for Persons with a Disability -how they apply in practice & any other relevant legislative requirements.Knowledge and understanding of National Policy in terms of Child Protection and Safeguarding Vulnerable PersonsGood team management skills.Good influencing and negotiating skills.Project management skills.Report writing skills.Informal enquiries to: Audrey Ryan, Policy and Standards Co-OrdinatorClosing date for receipt of completed applications is Friday 5th September
