EngineerLead Stress EngineerWhat You'll DoLead and improve engineering practices across the Structural/Stress domain for the continuous improvement of MBRYONICS capabilities and engineering excellence.Develop and execute multidisciplinary analysis workflows to predict system performance under environmental loads including thermal gradients, structural vibrations, and mechanical stresses.Lead and mentor engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities.Foster a collaborative, resilient and innovative engineering culture within MBRYONICS.Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, optical, electrical, software, systems, and other engineering teams to deliver robust, high-performance space systems.Perform detailed FEA simulations using tools from the Siemens or ANSYS suite.Support environmental testing campaigns including vibration, shock, and thermal vacuum (TVAC), correlating test data with predictive models.Define and execute test plans to validate structural models and support space flight qualification.Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, analysis reports, and verification matrices in accordance with ECSS or MIL-STD requirements.Drive continuous improvement in structural or thermal analysis capabilities, implementing best practices in model reuse, simulation automation, and cross-domain integration.Participate in design reviews, customer meetings, and bid/proposal efforts, serving as the subject matter expert for structural modelling of space systems.Work with managers and supervisors to implement quality measures and standards, with an ultimate goal of scaling up to high volume manufacturing.Who You ArePrior industry experience in Aerospace is essential.8+ years of mechanical, aerospace, or related engineering experience.B.Eng/M.Eng/PhD in Mechanical, Optical, Aerospace Engineering or relevant field.Deep expertise in FEA for structural analysis (modal, static, random vibration, shock).Proficient with ANSYS, Simcenter 3D, FEMAP, or other NASTRAN simulation environments.Familiarity with mechanical design principles, tolerance analysis, and the impact of mechanical and thermal loads on performance.Strong grasp of EASA, FAA, ECSS, MIL-STD, or NASA standards for mechanical qualification of aerospace hardware.Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally.Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation skills.Experience mentoring and guiding junior engineers.Desirable Requirements/Technical Skills/EducationHands-on experience supporting vibration/shock testing.Understanding of spacecraft thermal control methods (e.g., coatings, MLI, interface design, conductive paths).Knowledge of materials for structural and thermal stability (e.g., Invar, aluminum alloys, CFRP).Experience with spacecraft-level analysis and performance allocation across subsystems.Actively engaged in the fields of structural or optical engineering with a commitment to continuous learning and innovation.Familiarity with space industry standards (ECSS/MIL-STD), CI/CD for mechanical releases, configuration control, and quality systems
