ThebusinessunitThe Buildings Unit (BLD) has a major presence in Mott MacDonald's regional offices throughout the UK and mainland Europe, providing a wide range of diverse and transferable cross-sector sectors.About The TeamThe MEP Team in Ireland collaborates on a wide variety of projects in the Built Environment, Transport, Water and Advisory sectors across our three offices, in Belfast, Dublin and Cork.There are also close links with our sister offices all over the UK .Overview Of The RoleAs a Senior Electrical Engineer, your role will include assessing and understanding project requirements, undertaking electrical design across a number of disciplines and agreeing timescales and specifications with design teams, clients and managers.Leading and directing junior staff, you will be actively involved in the preparation of documents, reports and health and safety risk assessments as well as interpreting commercial and/or contractual aspects of correspondence with or between fellow professionals on multidisciplinary projects.Key Responsibilities And Duties IncludeManaging the delivery of assigned the Electrical elements of multi-disciplinary projects across a range of sectors including, Built Environment, Water, Transportations and AdvisoryWorking and liaising with associated engineering disciplines as part of delivering projectsDealing with a and management of internal and external stakeholdersCarrying out design and calculation work using relevant industry software (eg Amtech, IES, Relux, Revit etc)Demonstrating technical expertise, providing in depth knowledge whilst proactively coaching and developing more junior team membersDeveloping, maintaining and monitoring programmes for scheduling and reporting on deliverables across specific projectsMaximising profitability of projects, monitoring against budget, reacting and anticipating potential problems and communicating in line with client expectationsAreas Of Expertise Should IncludeElectrical building services design with experience in a number of the following areas:Health careEducationIndustrial/pharmaWater/WastewaterFood ProcessingTransportationData CentresLighting and Emergency Lighting for buildings (Commercial and Industrial).Familiar with electrical and lighting design packages including Trimble (Amtech), Relux, DialuxExternal Lighting, including roads/highwaysGeneral Power and Services, including Fire Detection and Alarm, CCTV, Access Control, Power and DataMV (Medium Voltage) switchgear and transformersLV (Low Voltage) Distribution and MCC's (Motor Control Centres) including wiring schematics, SLD'sTransformers at 20kV/10kV to 400V3 phase and single phase systemsBMS (Building Management Systems) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systemsInstrumentation, Control and Automation systemsBIM, AutoCAD and RevitSite experience an advantageServices co-ordination in buildings and for underground servicesCandidate specificationEssentialB.Eng /M.EngChartered EngineerHave experience of leading on Electrical services and some multi disciplinary projects,Have experience of mentoring and leading graduate engineersBe enthusiastic and ambitiousPossess excellent communication skills, including report writing and presentationHave the ability to lead electrical elements of one large project or a portfolio of smaller
