Job Description
Reporting to the Head of Accounting, a vacancy has arisen for a Senior Financial Accountant to join the Accounting team.
The role holder is responsible for group and local statutory financial reporting and taxation activities whilst ensuring all activities pertaining to the role are performed accurately, compliantly and timely whilst adhering to IFRS accounting standards & Irish fiscal standards as well as internal, HQ and external deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Statutory reporting: Prepare group consolidated and local statutory financial statements, notes to accounts, reconcile multi-ledger activities relevant to the income statement and balance sheet, and coordinate with external auditors during the audit process.
Audit management: Primary point of contact for external auditors; maintain effective communication to facilitate audits; prepare and present audit reports to management and audit committee.
Internal controls: Evaluate internal controls and recommend improvements; report and remediate any control failures; maintain documentation of audit procedures and findings.
Taxation: Ensure compliance with tax regulations; prepare and file tax returns (including VAT and corporation tax); develop tax strategies, conduct tax research, assist with tax audits, prepare tax provisions, maintain tax records, and manage tax risk with input from external advisors as needed.
Financial reporting: Communicate financial results and insights to senior management and provide clear reports and presentations as required.
Taxation
Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and laws including preparation and filing of VAT returns, Corporation Tax, Transfer Pricing, Pillar II and monthly payroll journals.
Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial performance.
Research and Analysis: Conduct research on tax issues and provide analysis and recommendations to management.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and review tax provisions and disclosures for financial statements.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date tax records and documentation.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate tax risks, ensuring compliance with internal controls and policies.
Key Role Requirements
5 years' experience as a Financial Accountant / Finance Business Partner / Accounting Manager or similar within financial services / Big 4 accounting function / large corporation.
Experience preparing statutory financial statements and group consolidated accounting packages including notes to accounts.
Excellent knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
Experience preparing tax returns including VAT and corporation tax.
Ability to report and present to senior managers.
Understanding of complex financial services products including operational lease, hire purchase, unit funding and complex loans and the impact on balance sheet and profit & loss.
Key Individual Requirements
ACCA / ACA qualification

Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
Deep analytical and productivity performance analysis skillset
Expertise in full Microsoft suite including Power BI, PowerPoint, Excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and provide insights
Precision in preparing and reviewing financial statements and reports
Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as ERP systems and Excel
Ability to identify issues and develop solutions to improve financial processes
Efficiently manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Ability to adapt to changing financial environments and regulations
