Senior Financial Accountant - Life Scientific

Join to apply for the Senior Financial Accountant - Life Scientific role at Life Scientific.

At Life Scientific, we don't just follow the crowd we rewrite the rules. We've already shaken up a $250 billion industry, and we're just getting started. We're on a mission to become the world's most successful crop protection innovator, and we're looking for a driven and ambitious Senior Financial Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team in Dublin.

The Role

As Senior Financial Accountant, you will be a key member of our Finance team, taking ownership of core accounting processes while also contributing to broader financial initiatives. This is a hands-on role where getting things done is valued just as much as technical skill. You'll partner with senior stakeholders across the business, providing both financial insight and practical support, while positioning yourself to grow as the company scales.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead preparation of monthly and quarterly management reporting packs, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and insight.
  • Take ownership of general ledger integrity (accruals, deferrals, intercompany, reclasses) and ensure best practice controls are in place.
  • Support and challenge budget holders with insightful analysis to aid decision-making.
  • Lead statutory audit preparation, liaising with external auditors and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Oversee tax compliance (VAT, Intrastat, and related filings).
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within Finance to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Act as a mentor and support to junior finance colleagues.
  • Collaborate across Supply Chain, R&D, and Commercial teams to ensure Finance is fully embedded in business decisions.

What You Bring

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA or equivalent).
  • 4–6+ years' post-qualification experience in financial accounting, ideally with exposure to both practice and industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS/FRS 102).
  • Proven ability to deliver accurate financial information in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence presenting financial insights to non-finance stakeholders.
  • A self-starter mindset with the drive to take initiative, solve problems, and deliver results.
  • An interest in developing breadth beyond core accounting, with the curiosity and adaptability to support wider finance priorities as needed.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP B1 is a plus) and reporting tools (e.g., DataRails, Power BI).

Location

Based in our Dublin office — with hybrid flexibility and a supportive, people-first culture included.

Why Join Us?

Because you want to make a difference. Because you want to work in a business where Finance is a strategic partner, not just a back-office function. And because doing things differently is more exciting than doing them the usual way.

Industry & Collaboration

  • Backed by InVivo (Europe's largest agricultural co-operative).
  • Speed & Agility: We're first to market with many of our products — and Finance plays a critical role in making that happen.
  • Collaboration: R&D, Supply Chain, and Finance work as one seamless unit. No silos here.
  • Beyond Budgeting: Finance is a strategic enabler, driving real-time decisions across the business.
  • Culture: Autonomy, shared leadership, and a culture with the right amount of fun.

Additional

Location details, job types, and industry postings are provided for applicants; this posting focuses on the Senior Financial Accountant role and associated qualifications and responsibilities.
