Summary:
A facilities management company is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to lead compliance and risk management across a large PPP contract.
This role is responsible for ensuring that all operational activities meet current health, safety, and environmental legislation, while promoting a proactive safety culture across the estate.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee health and safety compliance across all contracted services, with a focus on facilities maintenance and project delivery.
Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments in line with legislative and contractual requirements.
Act as the primary point of contact for all health and safety matters, both internally and with client representatives.
Lead incident investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions implemented.
Provide training, guidance, and support to operational teams to promote best practice.
Conduct regular audits and inspections, reporting on findings and ensuring continuous improvement.
Work closely with commercial and operational teams to ensure health and safety is embedded into project planning and service delivery.
Requirements:
Relevant degree or diploma in Health and Safety or a related discipline.
Professional membership (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH) is essential.
Experience managing health and safety within a facilities or construction environment, ideally under a PPP contract.
Strong working knowledge of current health, safety, and environmental legislation in the UK and Ireland.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Confident leading investigations, audits, and delivering training.
