Join us at Barclays as a Controls Business Partner within Barclays Europe.
In this role you will assess and make improvements to the integrity and effectiveness of the banks internal control framework to support the mitigation of risk and protection of the bank's non-financial risk.
As well as being responsible for supporting the business to implement the Barclays Control Framework, the successful candidate will support with the management of key topics such as Issues, Risk Events, risk-related change, and transformation etc, in line with the Standards aligned to the Barclays Control Framework.
To be successful in the role of a Controls Business Partner you should have:
Experience in a risk or control related function and ability to identify and investigate potential weaknesses and issues with internal controls and processes to promote continuous improvement.
Strong knowledge of Operational Risk and Controls including understanding of the adherence to the Barclays Controls Framework and ability to set appropriate methodology of assessing controls against the Controls Framework.
The ability to develop, a strong understanding of corporate bank products, the client, and the end-to-end journeys associated with them.
Some Other Highly Valued Skills Include
Experience working in product or client-related risk roles, such as Global Transaction Banking and International Corporate Banking
Will have previously worked in an environment that has enabled them to gain a broad understanding of risk and controls.
Will have strong Stakeholder management experience and the ability to influence others positively.
Be a motivated, high-performing individual with proven experience of working at one with other colleagues, to achieve and often beat their objectives and assist others in doing so.
You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job specific technical skills.
This role will be based out of Dublin.
Purpose of the role
To assess the integrity and effectiveness of the banks internal control framework to support the mitigation of risk and protection of the banks operational, financial, and reputational risk.
Accountabilities
Knowledge of business areas, products, processes and platforms to be able to assess risk
Collaboration with various stakeholders across the bank and business units to improve overall control effectiveness through detailed documentation of control assessments, procedures, and findings.
Identification and investigation of potential weaknesses and issues within internal controls to promote continuous improvement and risk mitigation aligned to the bank's control framework, prioritised by its severity to disrupt bank operations.
Development of reports to communicate key findings from risk assessment including control weaknesses and recommendations to control owners, senior management, and other stakeholders.
Execution of reviews to determine the effectiveness of the bank's internal controls framework aligned to established and evolving policies, regulation, and best practice.
Implementation of adherence to the Barclays Controls Framework and set appropriate methodology of assessing controls against the Controls Framework.
