OverviewMedica Group is the market leader in the provision of telehealth services across the UK and Ireland.We are excited to offer a valuable opportunity for a Bank Radiology Assistant to join our team at our Dun Laoghaire clinic.Radiology Assistants play a key role in supporting the radiology team by providing essential administrative and chaperone support, ensuring patients receive the highest standard of care and experience.This role is ideal for individuals with strong organisational and interpersonal skills, a passion for healthcare, and a desire to contribute to the smooth running of a busy clinical environment.It is particularly well-suited to radiography students seeking hands-on experience in a clinical setting and the chance to learn directly from experienced radiographers.What this opportunity offersFlexible/bank position, currently 3 days per weekWorking in a dynamic and supportive clinical environmentExposure to a wide range of radiology workflows and patient interactionsValuable experience for those pursuing a career in radiography or healthcareIf you're enthusiastic, compassionate, and eager to make a difference in patient care, we'd love to hear from youKey ResponsibilitiesAssist the radiographer in completing daily worklistsAssist patients through the patient journey, verifying their identity, explaining the procedure, reassuring the patient if anxious, making them feel comfortable prior to exam, checking safety questionnaires, and ensuring the patient is properly prepared and dressed for the examProvide emotional and physical support to patients during treatment, act as chaperone for intimate sonography examinations, and follow all policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure safety and dignity at all timesTransport patients to and from scanning areas, assist patients in changing areas if necessary, and assist the radiographer with safe lifting and positioning during examsHelp maintain scanning systems and accessory equipment, report any faults, clean imaging equipment as needed, and follow IP&C policies and protocols; set up ultrasound and/or MRI equipment/coils and follow ultrasound probe cleaning protocolsMonitor the use of consumables and restock clinical areas as requiredComplete clerical tasks such as scanning referrals, data input, maintaining records, and updating exam information across information and patient management systemsWho we areMedica Ireland is an Irish owned award-winning radiology services provider employing over 180 staff in Ireland.We deliver managed service solutions to public and private hospitals, and have direct-to-patient services in MRI, Ultrasound, CT, DXA, Obstetrics and X-Ray.We are a clinically led, patient-focused organisation with experts including radiologists, radiographers and sonographers.Our proven track record shows improvement in access for patients through the resolution of radiology bottlenecks and workflow inefficiencies, while reducing costs for the hospital.QualificationsQQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support (preferred but not essential)Currently studying Radiography (desirable)Essential SkillsHighly organised and able to handle several tasks simultaneouslyExcellent attention to detailAbility to work on own initiativeFriendly and professional manner with confidence in working with people at all levelsReal team playerExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to be discreet and act in a confident manner when necessaryResilient, flexible, and open to change.No one day is the same at MedicaDesirable SkillsComputer literate with good knowledge of Office tools, especially Excel, Outlook, and SharePointDynamic personality with a willingness to continuously learn and upskill#J-*****-Ljbffr
