**Job Title:** Senior Software Engineer: Python **Department & Team:** Conversational AI - Natural Language Understanding**Location:** We are open to this person working hybrid from our office in Galway or remote within Ireland**Summary:** An exciting opportunity to work and make meaningful contribution to cutting edge conversational ai systems including bots and copilots.
Leveraging the latest technologies in ML/NLP including integrations with latest LLM technologies.The team you will join is the heartbeat of language understanding in our chat bot and agent copilot products.
In a micro services architecture, we leverage the latest technologies both traditional ML/NLU/NP methodologies and more modern generative AI to power these products for Genesys.
As a member of the team, you will be adding new features to these micro services allowing Genesys to be leader in self-service automation and agentic AI**Key Responsibilities:** The primary responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to).
* Core contributor to feature road map, with high quality code contributions, working efficiently using latest technologies.
* High degree of experience with Python, closely monitoring changes in the community and recommending new libraries and concepts to team and leadership.
* Building and maintaining high throughput RESTful APIs.
* Excellent communication skills, particularly in technical conversations, ability to explain complex technical concepts to stakeholders.
* Team player: Ability to row in behind ideas and concepts from more senior team members, mentoring junior engineers.
Peer reviewing other engineers code contribution with an attention to detail and clear communication.
**Minimum Requirements:*** 4+ years of relevant experience* High degree of understanding of Python.
* Demonstrated skills building highly available RESTful APIs.
* Demonstrated work within a high performing engineering team as a key technical contributor.
**Bonus Requirements:*** Experience with Cloud Services such as AWS.
* Experience with of NLU/NLP or other ML concepts.
* Fine-tuning foundational models, prompt engineering for LLMs.
