Overview
We are currently seeking a reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented
Back of House Assistant
to join our award-winning team at the
Galway Bay Hotel
.
This is a hands-on, behind-the-scenes role that plays a vital part in the smooth daily operations of our busy hotel.
As a Back of House Assistant, you will ensure the highest standards of hygiene, organisation, and safety across all non-public areas of the hotel, including storage rooms, cellars, service corridors, and staff facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with beverage deliveries and stock rotation across all bar outlets.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation in beverage storage areas, including cellars, cold rooms, and bottle stores.
Monitor inventory levels and report shortages, breakages, or quality concerns.
Conduct daily checks and cleaning of all back-of-house areas, including corridors, tunnels, sluice rooms, compactor rooms, and changing facilities.
Maintain cleanliness in designated areas such as the Seascape Lounge, staff canteen, bar stores, and storage rooms.
Use cleaning products safely and in accordance with hotel protocols.
Ensure all fire escapes are unobstructed and fire equipment remains in designated locations.
Report maintenance or safety issues promptly to the relevant department.
Participate in safety drills and adhere to all hotel health & safety policies and procedures.
About You
A dependable team player with strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience in a similar role or hospitality setting is an advantage.
Good communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
Availability to work weekends and public holidays.
