Required for The Residence, Maynooth.
Co. Kildare Job Purpose To oversee and maintain the care of Residents within the Nursing Home in the absence of the Home Manager, take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Nursing Home, and ensure compliance with all Company policies, procedures, and legal requirements within specified timescales.
Main Responsibilities Ensure staff contribute to the efficient running of the Nursing Home and foster an environment conducive to Residents' best interests.
Interact with Residents to meet their healthcare needs, liaise with District Nurses, and resolve issues.
Report ill-health among Residents and coordinate GP/professional visits as needed.
Ensure meals meet quality and dietary requirements.
Undertake nursing work and personal care as appropriate.
Administer prescribed medicines, maintain records per NMBI and company guidelines.
Support Home Manager in auditing Care Plans and uphold Residents' dignity and independence.
Establish respectful relationships with Residents and liaise with healthcare professionals.
Provide on-call cover in the absence of the Home Manager.
Communication Maintain effective communication with the Home Manager, Residents, Relatives, and staff.
Report incidents, liaise with GPs, and ensure proper handovers.
Participate in meetings and supervise visits.
Financial and HR Management Manage budgets and ensure resource conservation.
Implement HR policies, assist in staffing, and oversee staff records and discipline.
Organize workload and ensure accurate payroll data collection.
Marketing and Development Promote the Nursing Home within the community.
Assist in resident recruitment and ensure the facility's presentation.
Supervise and develop staff competencies and attend training.
Health & Safety Report and manage infectious diseases and accidents.
Implement safety policies and act as Fire Officer.
Report hazards and promote safe working practices.
General Responsibilities Adhere to NMBI guidelines and maintain stock and records.
Be on-call for emergencies and ensure confidentiality.
Assist with access to resident funds and report absences.
Ensure security and compliance with policies.
Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications Current NMBI Registration Management/supervisory experience Effective communication skills Team player and genuine interest in Elderly care Garda Vetting clearance Care for the Elderly qualification/experience Desired Minimum two years management experience This Job Description is not exhaustive and may be amended according to business needs.
