We are excited to offer a valuable opportunity for a Bank Radiology Assistant to join our team at our Dun Laoghaire clinic.
Radiology Assistants play a key role in supporting the radiology team by providing essential administrative and chaperone support, ensuring patients receive the highest standard of care and experience.
This role is ideal for individuals with strong organisational and interpersonal skills, a passion for healthcare, and a desire to contribute to the smooth running of a busy clinical environment.
It is particularly well-suited to radiography students seeking hands-on experience in a clinical setting and the chance to learn directly from experienced radiographers.

Key Responsibilities
Assist the radiographer in completing daily worklists
Assist patients through the patient journey, verifying their identity, explaining the procedure, reassuring the patient if anxious, making them feel comfortable prior to exam, checking safety questionnaires, and ensuring the patient is properly prepared and dressed for the exam
Provide emotional and physical support to patients during treatment, act as chaperone for intimate sonography examinations, and follow all policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure safety and dignity at all times
Transport patients to and from scanning areas, assist patients in changing areas if necessary, and assist the radiographer with safe lifting and positioning during exams
Help maintain scanning systems and accessory equipment, report any faults, clean imaging equipment as needed, and follow IP&C policies and protocols; set up ultrasound and/or MRI equipment/coils and follow ultrasound probe cleaning protocols
Monitor the use of consumables and restock clinical areas as required
Complete clerical tasks such as scanning referrals, data input, maintaining records, and updating exam information across information and patient management systems

Qualifications
QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support (preferred but not essential)
Currently studying Radiography (desirable)
