We are looking for an Apprentice Toolmaker whose role is to learn how to operate all machinery needed to produce and maintain precision tools used in the production of metal, plastic, and other materials.
Avenue - a Nolato company based in Finisklin Business Park, Sligo - is an award-winning mould-building company and a growing medical device precision injection moulding business that has been successfully serving Ireland and the broader European markets for 30 years.
Avenue also brings expertise in building ultra-high-cavitation tooling for the medical device, diagnostics, and pharmaceutical markets.
An Apprentice Toolmaker at Avenue will learn how to operate all machinery needed to produce and maintain precision tools used in the production of metal, plastic, and other materials.
The work will involve interpreting drawings and technical data to machine and assemble with great accuracy jogs, fixtures, moulding tools, dies, and punches.
The apprentice will complete both on-the-job training at Avenue and attend a local college to complete their studies over a 4-year period.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Willingness to learn and understand how to operate all equipment needed to build and maintain precision toolsLearn and understand how to apply technical data and drawingsCheck the work performed using appropriate measuring equipmentService and maintain relevant equipmentWillingness to continue your education by attending classes offered by Avenue primarily after working hoursPerform all tasks assigned, including but not limited to delivering parts to vendors, machine maintenance, and maintaining overall shop appearanceQUALIFICATIONS:Leaving Certificate with a good understanding of MathsLocated in Sligo, Ireland, Avenue specializes in the design and manufacture of plastic injection molds for leading medical device, diagnostic, and pharma OEMs.Become part of a team that pushes boundaries in manufacturing and automation solutions.
