Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a geotechnical engineer to join its data centre design team in Dublin, Ireland.Our team is responsible for achieving world class uptime for our customers while developing a fleet of buildings that emphasize security, safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.Key Job ResponsibilitiesManage geotechnical design packages for data centre campuses, HV/MV substations, and grid connection projects.Create, review, and release RFPs for external design consultants.Work within a multidisciplinary design team on site layouts during data centre masterplanning design.Act as the owners representative during the design phase to ensure timely delivery, within budget, and to the required quality level.Coordinate with internal and external MEP engineers, quantity surveyors, construction managers, and technical programme managers.Develop and maintain the geotechnical and civil engineering aspects of basis of design, prototype design, and template specifications for data centre, HV/MV substation, and grid connection projects.Lead initiatives aimed at improving cost, quality, schedule, and consistency.Travel for site assessments, design, AHJ and construction meetings (anticipated travel not to exceed 25%).About the teamWe are a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles.We collaborate with people across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.Basic QualificationsHonours degree in Geotechnical, Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited school and postgraduate qualification in Geotechnical engineering.+5 years experience in geotechnical engineering.Experience in creating, reviewing, and approving requests for proposal, bids, designs, and documentation.Solid working proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office Suite.Proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standards including Eurocodes.Preferred QualificationsChartered Engineer or Professional Engineering (PE) license.Master's degree in Geotechnical, Civil or Structural Engineering.Project Management Certificate.Experience working in multidisciplinary design teams (Civil, Structural, Architectural, Electrical and Mechanical).Solid working proficiency in Civil 3D, Revit and Bluebeam.3+ years experience in the Data Centre or Power/Utility sector.Equal Opportunity and Privacy NoticeAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.We make recruiting decisions based on your experience and skills.Protecting your privacy and the security of your data is a longstanding top priority for Amazon.Please consult ourPrivacy Noticeto know more about how we collect, use and transfer the personal data of our candidates.Posted:September 12, **** (Updated 1 day ago)#J-*****-Ljbffr
