Overview
Senior Client Engineer - Transmission & Distribution role at
AECOM
, based in the Republic of Ireland.
This role supports activities within a new multi-year framework with EirGrid, providing technical services on projects from development to construction.
Responsibilities
Developing primary plant layouts for HV substations
Creating equipment specifications for HV Plant and associated equipment
Providing engineering design input to major infrastructure projects
Client engineer/Owners' Engineer role on HV substation/Cable and OHL projects
Providing HV design input to renewable energy projects e.g., Battery storage, Solar, Hydro and Wind generation
Providing professional services to clients in Ireland/UK and overseas
Qualifications
A Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience of working on HV projects
Experience of working with major utilities or developers
Experience as a Designer or as a Project Engineer
Experience of developing specifications for substation control systems, transformers, GIS, and AIS switchgear
Ability to work flexibly across multiple projects
Fluency in English
Full driving license with access to a car as site visits will be required
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience of working on multi-discipline engineering projects
Chartered accreditation or working toward status
Consultancy experience
Experience in reviewing detailed designs & witnessing construction site activities
Candidates without specific HV experience that can demonstrate competency for the key skills required for the role will also be considered
