Overview

Senior Client Engineer - Transmission & Distribution role at AECOM, based in the Republic of Ireland. This role supports activities within a new multi-year framework with EirGrid, providing technical services on projects from development to construction.

Responsibilities
  • Developing primary plant layouts for HV substations
  • Creating equipment specifications for HV Plant and associated equipment
  • Providing engineering design input to major infrastructure projects
  • Client engineer/Owners' Engineer role on HV substation/Cable and OHL projects
  • Providing HV design input to renewable energy projects e.g., Battery storage, Solar, Hydro and Wind generation
  • Providing professional services to clients in Ireland/UK and overseas
Qualifications
  • A Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience of working on HV projects
  • Experience of working with major utilities or developers
  • Experience as a Designer or as a Project Engineer
  • Experience of developing specifications for substation control systems, transformers, GIS, and AIS switchgear
  • Ability to work flexibly across multiple projects
  • Fluency in English
  • Full driving license with access to a car as site visits will be required
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Experience of working on multi-discipline engineering projects
  • Chartered accreditation or working toward status
  • Consultancy experience
  • Experience in reviewing detailed designs & witnessing construction site activities
  • Candidates without specific HV experience that can demonstrate competency for the key skills required for the role will also be considered
