OverviewWe are looking for a dynamic and technically proficient Service Engineer to join our team.In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support and service to our clients, while also actively contributing to the growth and development of our service division.This role is based in Utrecht, Netherlands and may include up to 100% travel.ResponsibilitiesTechnical Support: Provide expert technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of automation systems and equipment for customers across various industries.Remote support:Remotely conduct diagnostics, troubleshoot problems, and implement solutions.Field Service:Travel to client sites to perform installations, repairs, and upgrades on automation systems.Correction of complex problems/malfunctions to PLC/SCADA and/or computer-controlled installations.Failure analysis in automation via online diagnosis.Investigate the root cause of failures and take the appropriate corrective actions.On-call:Provide availability for and respond to critical technical issues during designated on-call periods.Documentation:Maintain detailed records of service activities, including reports, maintenance logs, and equipment manuals.Training:Conduct training sessions for clients and internal teams on the use and maintenance of automation systems.Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and new technologies to improve service offerings.Sales and Business growth:Drive business growth by providing exceptional service and fostering strong client relationships.Skills:Thorough understanding of control system design and codingSelf-motivated, organized, and able to prioritize a variety of tasksAbility to handle sensitive and confidential informationStrong technical knowledge of automation systems and equipment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.Knowledge of industrial control protocols like Modbus, DNP3, Profibus, etc.Experience in troubleshooting and working with 3rd party support servicesExperience with electrical and instrumentation diagrams (including block diagram, connection diagrams and instrument loops).QualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering or a related fieldProven experience in the automation industry, including technical support and serviceMinimum 5 yrs.experience in an automation role in an industrial settingHands-on experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft OutlookProfessional level English (C1, C2, or Native)Ability to work in The Netherlands and other European countries without sponsorshipPreferred QualificationsExperience with one or more of the following platforms:Inductive Automation IgnitionRockwell ControlLogix/CompactLogix, PlantPAx, or FactoryTalkEmerson DeltaVSchneider Electric Modicon PLCs, EcoStruxure, PowerSCADA, or Power Monitoring Expert (PME)AVEVA System Platform or AVEVA PI Historian SystemSiemens S7, PCS7, or WinCCOther: VMWare, Cisco or Fortinet Networking and Firewalls#J-*****-Ljbffr
