Guidelines.Housekeeping: Ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained at all times, apply 5S and other Lean initiatives as required.Technical/Process Tooling & Test Knowledge: Increase Technical & Process Tooling and Test Knowledge over time by working with Technical Test Operators, Process/Product/System/Application site Technicians & Engineers, Machine Builder, Customer, External Suppliers.Studying all controlled Test/Operational procedures, Machine Documentation/Manuals.Detailed DescriptionInspect, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electro/mechanical equipment failures.Minimise machine breakdown/downtime and increase test time.Adjust and make necessary changes to equipment when issues are identified.Follow and implement response plans.Interact with other departments as required to resolve machine downtime issues.Record downtime issues and resolutions in appropriate database.Perform regular preventative maintenance tasks as per schedule.Plan and undertake equipment maintenance, including inspecting and monitoring performance.Work with external suppliers to complete all external service and maintenance machine tasks.Calibrate all instruments as per calibration schedule.Provide timely updates on any process, test or maintenance issues.Help move, install, set-up new and refurbish equipment.Provide detailed inputs into failed spare parts management process.Be mindful of opportunities which the Lab could potentially undertake to increase test capability to the site and customers e.g. product/process testing, process water testing, air monitoring, PAT testing.Ensure a good spare parts management system exists and is maintained.Work proactively to ensure performance targets are met – standard tests, qualifications, quality escalations, yield/quality, production outs/up-time /process stability.Finance Management.Internal and External Audit participation.Internal and external customer satisfaction.Inventory Management:Ensures all consumables and supplies are in stock which are required to perform test, PM's, equipment calibrations and other lab tests in a timely manner.Database Management & Data Communications:Ensure all test tool links are maintained and test data flows to Product Engineering in a timely manner.Calibration database management and data entry.Documentation:Maintain accurate and up-to-date operational and maintenance documentation in ETQ.Ensure Master list of Documents is compliant to all standards.Update all Technical documentation with resolutions to machine downtime issues.Ensures high standards of GMP and GDP are adhered to.Training:Design and develop detailed operational and technical training plans.Train and assist other Technicians and Operators.Demonstrate the ability to continuously strive to learn all processes and systems within the area.Work towards a personal development plan.Communications:Communicates present and potential problems which may affect testing, capacity, quality, other performance metrics to the Lab Supervisor in a timely manner.Attend pass downs, performance meetings as required to provide status updates.Process Improvements/Projects:Support process & product engineers to ensure continuous improvements are ongoing.Identify areas for improvement, design and implement projects which will lead to a step change/improvement in areas such as Tool Reliability, Operational Efficiency, Tool/Process Upgrades, Test Capability, Training, Documentation etc.Strong knowledge of the setup, operation, and maintenance of specific equipment sets used in manufacturing processes.Strong troubleshooting/Problem solving skills.Demonstrates a high level of technical ability, with hands on approach to solving technical issues.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.Commitment to achievement of test/manufacturing excellence.Ability to work on own initiative unsupervised, is self-driven.Resourceful (ability to seek & get help internally or externally in order to get the issues resolved), hands-on, enjoys a challenge.Works well under pressure.Flexibility to work different shift patterns.Drive performance/improvements using own initiative.Ability to accurately root cause an issue and prevent reoccurrence.Technical document/procedure writer.Report presentations.Data analysis.Experience and Qualifications:Technical/Engineering experience in a high-volume automated environment.Previous Manufacturing experience on electro-mechanical automated equipment.Test/Laboratory experience.Minimum Cert./Diploma/Senior Trades in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.Working knowledge of PLCs, Motor drives, pneumatic, hydraulic components, electro-mechanical systems is an advantage.Physical DemandsDuties of this position are performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional to frequent exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, etc.Duties of the position require periodic light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motions requiring manual dexterity and precise hand/eye co-ordination, sitting and or standing in confined workspaces, using tools and equipment, and moving and handling materials.Duties may require periodic heavy manual effort including lifting objects over.Duties require extended periods of sustained visual concentration on detailed documentation and product assemblies.Above demands are carried
