We are seeking a talented Senior Investment Management Specialist to join our growing business and play a pivotal role within the team to advise on Investment strategy, assist with portfolio construction, mentor less experienced team members, and oversee task management for the team.
The successful candidate will have strong technical and analytical capabilities, be a team player, hardworking, intellectually ambitious, and have a keen eye for detail.
The successful candidate will lead portfolio construction for our range of multi-asset portfolios across DC, private wealth, and wealth management, and provide investment strategy advice for DB pension schemes.
Mercer's Delegated Solutions Strategy team provides specialized investment strategy advice to pension schemes, focusing on dynamic de-risking, hedging, and portfolio construction.
Our dynamic de-risking solution manages pension schemes towards full funding, providing a clear governance framework for trustees to lock in market gains.
Liability hedging is a significant part of this solution, given recent market developments.
The team develops and implements investment strategies for clients, including pension schemes, endowments, and foundations, covering Irish clients, Europe ex-UK, and beyond.
This role requires a strong investment background, project management, leadership, organizational, collaboration, and communication skills.
The candidate must deliver complex solutions, have strong technical and analytical skills, and manage tight timelines and routine projects effectively.
We will count on you to:
Lead investment strategy analysis to determine strategic asset allocations for various portfolios.
Analyze client strategies to achieve target returns within constraints.
Monitor client funding levels and trading activities daily.
Update hedging strategies using a range of tools and models.
Adjust asset allocations dynamically as needed.
Represent Mercer's expertise in multi-asset investing to clients.
Coordinate with internal teams for strategy implementation.
Mentor junior team members and support team development.
Assist in business development efforts.
Oversee fund performance and compliance.
Present strategies to clients, prepare reports, and communicate updates clearly.
Improve processes for quality and efficiency.
What you need to have:
At least 5 years of experience in financial services (consulting, pensions, fund management, wealth management, investments, or asset management).
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Highly motivated, driven, and focused.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Strong analytical and attention to detail.
