Video Content CuratorRTÉ is Ireland's national public-service media organisation.We are embarking upon an ambitious and exciting 5-year transformation strategy to update the way we run the organisation.Our mission is to serve as an independent source of stories, news, information and entertainment for Ireland, reflecting the diversity of its people and providing experiences that enrich the lives of all.This sense of purpose motivates us to deliver to the highest standards in an environment that is collaborative, supportive and engaging.Attracting and retaining the best talent is key in delivering to our audiences.We want our people to thrive in an environment that values their output.Meet the teamThe Video Product team is responsible for ensuring that all content is optimally commissioned, created, packaged, curated, and published to our products, including RTÉ Player and RTÉ's YouTube channels, across multiple platforms and devices, from mobile, to desktop and Big Screen TVs.We are looking for an experienced Video Content Curator with a deep understanding of the competitive streaming and TV market and expertise in delivering digital content experiences across multiple platforms and devices.Reporting to the Video Product Manager, the Video Content Curator will be a TV enthusiast with a passion for Irish TV and culture and has a strong interest in global streaming and entertainment trends.You will be part of a team of curators and multimedia co-ordinators working closely with colleagues within RTÉ to support the delivery of RTÉ Player content and KPIs.The successful candidate will work within a dynamic, fast-paced environment, collaborating with stakeholders from across the business including technology, design, UX, marketing, audience insights and commercial.About the roleDevelop the RTÉ Player curation strategy with a focus on growth for connected TV platforms (e.g., Smart TVs, Apple TV, third party platforms)Maintain an online editorial calendar for RTÉ PlayerTailor the homepage ensuring it reflects the national conversation at all timesPrioritise content on big screen, curating for the lean-back experience, optimising navigation and user journeysCombine personalised recommendations with curated editorial content to deliver variety, serendipity and discoveryCoordinate with the Mobile Curator and Discovery Lead to ensure alignment with overall platform strategy (mobile, TV, Web)Write sharp, engaging copy for hero placements, rails, and promotional spots that resonate in the living room environmentWork closely with content planner to plan, prioritise and promote content priorities including box setsIntroduce new content curation tools, innovation, and techniques to enhance outputCollaborate with UX, Product, and Design teams to enhance imagery workflows, rail strategies, and navigationUse analytics to track performance of curated placements.Monitor KPIs (streams, time spent, completion rates, device splits) and iterate strategy accordinglyWork with the Discovery Lead to ensure recommended content is surfaced effectively and balanced with curated collectionsWork with Marketing, Communications, and Partnerships teams to ensure alignment with the RTÉ Player brand, editorial guidelines and TOV across all touchpointsOversee Product key art series imagery ensuring it meets RTÉ Player product specs effectivelyAbout youMinimum of 3 years' experience in content curation, editorial, or digital publishing (preferably in video/VOD/streaming)Third-level qualification in Multimedia, Journalism, Communications, or a related discipline, with proven experience applying these skills in a professional settingDemonstrable experience with copywriting and managing content calendars with ability to adapt tone for different genres and audiencesEvidence of a strong analytical mindset who can show examples of how you've used data to lead to growthProven understanding of cross-platform editorial strategy and audience behaviour and how audience behaviours differ across big screen, mobile, and webExcellent attention to detail in imagery, metadata, and complianceVisual -
