Acting as a virtual insurer for our capacity providers, Wrightway is committed to trading exclusively with insurers that hold an "A Rated" or better status.

We are looking for a Property & Casualty Underwriter to join our growing team.
This role will underwrite & service existing accounts and evaluating new business by using prudent and established underwriting practices, within underwriting authorities.
Utilising negotiation skills to secure expected retention, income and rate aligned with company, team and individual objectives to drive business revenue and structured growth.
How you'll make an impact
Support the Non Motor underwriting function, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
Provide technical underwriting expertise across all Non Motor lines.
Handle referrals and underwriting for both new and existing business, contributing to profitable growth.
Provide input into the innovation and future-proofing of the relevant products, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with market trends.
Develop skills and expertise to adapt to industry changes and evolving underwriting challenges.
Ensure adherence to internal underwriting governance, including audits, peer reviews, and risk assessments.
Support the maintenance of underwriting policies, documents, and processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
Provide input into proposed process improvements and policy updates.
Demonstrate market expertise with knowledge of industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes.
Regular interaction with Claims to ensure proactive Broker & Client meetings
Build and maintain relationships with capacity partners & key brokers, supporting new business and retention efforts
Leverage broker relationships to enhance product offerings and expand market presence.
About you
Recognized insurance qualification (FCII, ACII, CIP) or relevant academic degree.
In-depth knowledge of the Liability Insurance market in Ireland.
Proven underwriting experience in Liability product lines.
Strong profile within the insurance broking community.
Property/Casualty underwriting experience.
Experience in managing a scheme/portfolio is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Skilled in diplomacy, tact, and empathy.
Ability to handle complex, confidential information.
Comfortable working independently and managing multiple tasks.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland.
