Project Planner (Navan Line) Capital Investment Division – Iarnród ÉireannLocation – InchicoreSalary – Executive Grade DIarnród Éireann are seeking an experienced Project Planner to join Iarnród Éireann's Navan Line Programme.Supporting the development, construction and delivery of this nationally significant rail project.The RoleReporting to the Commercial Manager for the Navan Line, the Planner is responsible for developing, managing and tracking the integrated master programme for the Navan Rail Line (M3 Parkway to Navan), using Primavera P6/Oracle Primavera Cloud.This includes incorporating design, procurement and construction activities from IÉ and delivery partners, reviewing programme submissions from contractors/consultants, coordinating schedules and supporting contract administration.The Planner will work closely with the Commercial Manager to ensure scope, schedule, cost, risk and resources are fully aligned with project objectives.Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain the Master Programme, ensuring full integration of design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phasesCoordinate the preparation of target construction and procurement schedulesReview and provide commentary on consultants' and contractors' programmes for feasibility, logic, and compliance with contractual and project objectivesTrack and report actual progress against planned, highlighting deviations and slippages in critical path activitiesSupport the preparation of contract documents including programme-related requirementsEvaluate change orders, extension of time claims, and support dispute resolution processesMaintain and update the Project Execution Plan monthlyAnalyse programme trends, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategiesPrepare monthly status reports and support the preparation of quarterly and exception reportingEssential Requirements:Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Project ManagementMinimum 10 years' experience in project planning and programme management for major projects, ideally linear transport infrastructure projectsDemonstrated experience in Primavera P6 and/or Oracle Primavera CloudStrong knowledge of the full project lifecycle: design, procurement, construction, and commissioningFamiliarity with public sector project management and cost governance frameworks and contracts e.g. NEC4, CWMFStrong Microsoft Office skills, particularly ExcelDesirable Skills and Experience:Chartered membership of a recognised professional institution (e.g., Engineers Ireland, APM, PMI)Experience on railway infrastructure projectsExperience working in a multidisciplinary teamUnderstanding of safety assurance, stakeholder management, and construction interface planningInterview Competencies:Demonstrated experience in project planning and scheduling.Commercial and contractual awarenessStrong analytical, planning, and organisational skillsExcellent verbal and written communicationAttention to detail while maintaining strategic focus****Please note, this list is not exhaustive, please contact HR Shared Services for a full job description***A competency-based interview will form part of this selection process.Candidates may be shortlisted on the basis of their application/CV and relevant experience.If any applicants have special requirements, please advise Shared Services when forwarding your application.If you are interested in applying for this role, applications including CV and cover letter should be forwarded to: by 4pm Friday 12th of September ****.At Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail we are committed to embedding diversity and inclusion in all that we do.This starts with how we recruit people.It is important to us that all individuals feel welcome to join our organisation and we take great care to ensure an even playing field for allWe will strive to provide reasonable accommodation to all candidates where required and requested.We are an equal opportunities employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, ethnicity, sex, age, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression or disability.
