Eastern Province, Rwanda; Kilimanjaro, Tanzania; and Lango sub-Region, Uganda.It is expected that the successful candidate will make significant contributions to the planned research project and will coordinate the project management with project managers at partner institutions.The successful candidate will assist the Principal Investigator in the day-to-day management of the project by working closely with project team members, and project managers in the partner countries, to ensure that all of the administrative functions for the project are organised and completed.This role requires a highly organised individual with excellent communication skills.The successful candidate will have significant project management experience, including for multi-centre projects with a number of stakeholders.Experience in managing EU fundedresearch/innovation projects and coordinating across multiple partner institutions in different countries is desirable.The Senior Research Coordinator – Project Manager will work closely with the programme Directors and wider management team to ensure all operational, administrative, and compliance functions within the Programme are being properly executed in accordance with best practices.This will include the following duties:• Assist the Principal Investigator in the day-to-day management of the project.•Coordinate with multiple researchers, and consortium partners to ensure efficient study execution.•Work closely with project team members, and project managers in the partner countries, to ensure that all of the administrative functions for the project are organised and completed.•Support Education and Public Engagement champions on the projects to prepare and deliver engaging events.•Work with the INFANT Finance Manager to support budget management.•Ensure appropriate contracts and data management procedures are in place.•Oversee logistics to ensure smooth operation of research visits.•Contribute to process improvements and the streamlining of administrative procedures across the consortium.•Assist with the tracking of study metrics / KPIs and provide input on same for project level reports to funders and Centre level reports.Specific RequirementsA graduate qualification in a field or discipline relevant to the area of investigation i.e. BSc, MSc or PhDExperience and ability to meet project deliverables and milestones and where necessary, implement strategies to address delays and/or make necessary changes to project timelines.Experience in periodic reportingProject ManagementMinimum of 5 years of experience in project managementOrganisational & Planning SkillsDemonstrated ability to organise meetings and eventsCompetence in time management and prioritising competing tasks.Budget & Financial ManagementExperience in project budget managementExperience in tracking expenditures and preparing financial reports.Administrative & Logistical SupportSkilled in supporting research team logistics (e.g., arranging travel, venue booking, documentation).Proficiency with collaborative tools (e.g., MS Teams, Zoom, SharePoint, Google Workspace).Communication & ReportingAbility to prepare and edit clear, concise progress reports.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.Problem-Solving & AdaptabilityCapacity to anticipate risks, propose solutions, and adapt plans under changing circumstances.Demonstrable achievements in delivering results on a research project or in a research area.Ability to interact with stakeholders from a range of disciplines and sectors.Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage complex workloads.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Experience working in low- or middle-income countriesProven experience managing similar EU-funded research/innovation projects.Familiarity with EU grant agreements,Experience with EU project budgeting,Strong ability to coordinate activities across multiple partner institutions in different countries.Demonstrated ability to organise meetings and events at country-level, work package level, consortium levelExperience liaising with ministries, academic partners, and NGOs.Experience of large-scale research programmes.Understanding of research funding mechanisms and university-based research structures.#J-18808-Ljbffr
