Title and Summary
Senior Network Security Engineer (Checkpoint)
The Network Engineering team seeks a dynamic and experienced network professional to work on the implementation, security, and support of large, multi-site, multi-vendor network environments.
Major Accountabilities:
Manage and implement medium to large networks in multi-domain environments using industry-leading technologies and platforms.
Collaborate with design and platform teams to implement network designs as per requirements.
Re-architect network segments to support new requirements, technologies, and growth.
Effectively triage and resolve network issues.
Maintain good communication, accountability, and attention to detail.
Support regional projects, including planning, scheduling, and implementation.
Automate processes and tasks to increase efficiency.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Industry certifications (Cisco, Checkpoint, Arista, etc.)
are desirable but not mandatory.
Knowledge / Experience:
5+ years of IT experience in network engineering and operations.
Skills in network automation/scripting (Python, Ansible).
Hands-on experience with managing and deploying medium to large-scale networks (Cisco, Palo Alto, Aruba, Arista, Checkpoint).
Knowledge of project management methodologies.
Strong skills in network diagnostics, BGP, VPN, DMVPN, MPLS, SD-WAN.
Understanding of network architecture and trends (Traditional, Cloud, Spine/Leaf, segmentation).
Experience with firewalls and security methods.
Ability to create and maintain detailed process documentation.
Skills/Abilities:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Self-starter with good listening skills.
Willingness to learn new technologies.
Team player and individual contributor.
Ability to work with limited supervision.
Working Conditions:
Occasional local/domestic travel may be required.
Open to working weekends or weeknights for planned work.
