Job Description
Project Planner (Town Planning)
Join one of Ireland's largest Planning teams as a Project Planner.
You will bring your planning experience to medium and large-scale projects across key sectors, including commercial development, residential, renewable energy, and infrastructure.
As a Project Planner, you will lead diverse projects, manage complex assignments and mentor the next generation of planners.
What You'll Bring to MKO
You will be expected to take primary ownership and act as the lead planner on medium and large-scale planning projects from inception to completion.
Act as the lead planner and primary contact for clients and their representatives, driving projects forward effectively, including effective interaction with project stakeholders, clients, and multi-disciplinary design team members.
Draft and review planning reports and documentation to a very high standard.
Project manage assignments, including responsibility for budgets, stakeholder relationships, outputs, and design team coordination.
Actively mentor junior members of staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence and professional growth.
Undertake background research, desk studies, field visits, and prepare high-quality planning assessments, reports, and project planning inputs.
Engage effectively with relevant authorities and stakeholders on planning projects.
Ensure the delivery of fit-for-purpose project outputs within set deadlines.

What We're Looking for in You
We are seeking a Project Planner with a proven track record of managing complex projects in a consultancy environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead medium to large-scale planning projects from inception to completion.
A qualification in Town Planning (IPI or RTPI Accredited).
A minimum of 3 years of post-graduate planning experience, ideally in planning consultancy or a similar environment.
Relevant and recent experience working on projects in the commercial development, residential, renewable energy, and infrastructure sectors is essential.
Excellent working knowledge of the Irish planning system and the interaction of relevant national and European planning and environmental legislation.
(Candidates with relevant UK experience will also be considered).
Strong commercial awareness and project management skills.
Exceptional report writing skills, with meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational capabilities.
Candidates must possess a full driver's licence.
