wellbeing of residents.This includes providing personal care, ensuring a clean and safe environment, building life skills, and supporting meaningful participation in community life.Role RequirementsDegree in Social Care, Social Studies, Nursing, Youth and Community Studies, Psychology or Social Work or other relevant qualification at degree level.CORU:Registration with the Social Care Workers Registration Board maintained by CORU (evidence will be required) orHold a CORU-approved Social Care Worker qualification and have applied for CORU registration (evidence will be required) orEligible for registration with the Social Care Workers Registration Board maintained by CORU (evidence will be required)A minimum of 6 months' work experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilityExperience working with individuals with complex needs a distinct advantageExcellent IT and report writing skills.Availability to work shifts on a rota basis including evenings, weekends, and waking night dutyMust hold a full clean driving licence valid in Ireland and be willing to drive company vehiclesProficient in both oral and written English languageHave the legal right Worker will:Support the Person in Charge with all aspects of the effective running of the residential service.Facilitate and implement a person-centred approach for residents appropriate to their wishes and goalsFacilitate, encourage and develop each resident's choice and decision-making skills, and ensuring the resident and their representatives are actively involved in the decision-making process.Enable each resident to pursue and maintain their individual hobbies and interests and facilitate residents to actively participate and integrate into the community,Support and develop the self-help and social skills of each resident enabling them to maximise their independence and control, acting as a Key Worker for specific residentsEnsure the best possible health and wellbeing of residents in all areas of their lives including health and personal care.Be familiar with and ensure that policies, procedures, and codes of practice of the Services are adhered toBe responsible for all aspects of Health and Safety of service users and staff and compliance with Health and Safety legislation, ensure reporting and recording of incidents meet the service standards and participate in incident reviews or other investigationsBe responsible for the safe use and care of equipment and report faulty equipment etc., as it arisesBe familiar and operate to fire regulations and emergency procedures and participate in the implementation of same.Ensure that all records in relation to individuals supported by the services are up to date, correctly filed and managed as per the service's records management system.Manage risk in a systematic way that is embedded in a culture of safety, welfare and quality of life for residents.Report all accident/incidents and take appropriate action.Ensure that all petty cash and the personal monies of the residents are properly accounted for.keeping relevant records and ensuring that accounts are checked and balancedEnsure the homes of the residents are clean, comfortable and report any maintenance issuesAttend and participate fully in regular staff meetings where all aspects of the service area are discussed with a view to maintaining high standards.Deal with confidential information in a discreet and responsible mannerReport all matters of concern immediately to the Person in Charge.Attend mandatory and specific skills
