Role DescriptionWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing engineering team at Caragh Precision.
This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with approximately 2+ years' experience to work in a highly regulated, precision manufacturing environment supporting some of the world's leading medical device companies.
Working closely with experienced engineers and reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will contribute to process development, support New Product Introductions (NPIs), assist with validation activities, and play a key role in continuous improvement initiatives.

Main DutiesManufacturing & Process Optimization


• Support the development and improvement of CNC manufacturing processes.

•Assist in process validation activities (IQ, OQ, PQ), working with senior engineers and quality teams.

•Participate in NPIs, helping to ensure smooth handover from development to production.

• Collaborate with tooling, CNC, and inspection teams to troubleshoot and optimize processes.

•Learn and apply SPC tools such as Minitab for basic process monitoring and improvement.

Continuous Improvement & Problem-Solving


•Support lean manufacturing initiatives and participate in problem-solving activities.

• Contribute to root cause analysis using structured approaches like 8D or FMEA with guidance.

• Assist in identifying and implementing improvements using Lean and Six Sigma principles.
Team Collaboration & Development


•Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Quality, Production, and Design.

•Contribute ideas to improve efficiency, safety, and product quality.

Compliance & Documentation


•Ensure accurate documentation of processes and changes in compliance with ISO 13485.

•Maintain awareness of quality and regulatory requirements, supported by senior team members.

•Gain exposure to advanced machining, inspection, validation, and automation technologies.

Requirements
•2+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering or process development role, ideally within the medical device or precision engineering sector.

•Understanding of process validation, SPC tools, and lean manufacturing principles.

•Familiarity with CNC machining and metrology is an advantage.

•Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with a focus on learning and continuous improvement.

•Basic knowledge of CAD (SolidWorks or AutoCAD) and GD&T is desirable.

•Knowledge of ISO13485 is a plus but not essential – training will be provided.


• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Biomedical, or a related Engineering field.

• Lean Six Sigma certification (Green/Black Belt) is an advantage.
