We are seeking a Director of Quality Assurance to own and advance our QA practice.
In this strategic, hands-on leadership role, you will be responsible for defining the vision and strategy for quality across our ALLFINANZ SaaS platform.
While leading our team of talented QA automation engineers, your primary focus will be on establishing best practices, selecting tooling, and building a world-class testing methodology.
You will be our senior-most subject matter expert on quality, mentoring the team, and embedding a "quality-first" mindset across the technology organisation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
QA Strategy & Leadership:
Develop and execute a roadmap for the evolution of our testing practices, including manual, automated, performance, and security testing.
Set the standards for test planning, case design, automation frameworks, and defect management across the entire QA practice.
Evaluate, recommend, and implement new tools and technologies to improve the efficiency, coverage, and impact of the QA team.
Act as the principal advocate for quality, collaborating with Engineering and Product leadership to ensure quality is a shared responsibility and is built into the entire development lifecycle.
Develop and monitor key quality metrics and KPIs to provide clear visibility into product health and the effectiveness of the QA practice.
Team Mentorship & Enablement:
Provide expert guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to a team of QA automation engineers.
Actively coach the team to elevate their capabilities in modern test automation, API testing, and other critical skills.
In partnership with engineering management, set clear goals, conduct performance reviews, and support the career progression of team members.
Ensure the QA engineers have the right processes, tools, and support to execute the testing strategy effectively and efficiently.
Maintain a strong connection to the work by participating in complex test planning, reviewing automation code, and helping to resolve critical quality issues.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
10+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a proven track record of leading QA initiatives or teams.
Deep expertise in defining QA strategy and establishing best practices in an enterprise SaaS environment.
Strong, hands-on technical background in test automation (for both UI and APIs) using frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Postman.
Experience in a leadership, mentorship, or management role, with a passion for developing the skills of a technical team.
Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to gain buy-in from stakeholders at all levels.
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and integrating QA into CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the insurance, financial services (FinTech/InsurTech), or another highly regulated industry is a significant advantage.
Direct experience testing complex, rule-based systems.
Knowledge of performance, scalability, and security testing methodologies.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and their associated services.
Previous experience in a "Practice Lead," "Principal Engineer," or similar role that combines strategic ownership with technical leadership.
