Executive Director, ARC Hub for Therapeutics Cranmore Executive Search is proud to partner with the ARC Hub for Therapeutics to recruit an Executive Director.
This exciting, high-impact role will drive the commercialization of groundbreaking academic research in small molecule and biological therapies, biomaterials, biomarkers, and advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs).
A joint initiative between Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin, and RCSI, the ARC Hub unites Ireland's biopharma ecosystem—venture capitalists, indigenous companies, state agencies, and advisors—to transform promising research into real-world commercial successes.

The successful candidate for this role will be expected to have proven leadership, senior management and operational experience gained in the pharmaceutical industry or through a significant role in the biotech industry.
They will have an extensive network within the pharma and investor sector, and a track record of deal-making in the life science sector.
This could include SME fundraising experience and/or securing investment from the pharmaceutical sector (or similar).

Key Responsibilities Lead strategy, operations, and financial management of the ARC Hub, overseeing a multi-institutional operations team.
Develop and nurture relationships with investors, industry partners, and government agencies to propel spin-outs, licensing deals, and commercial outputs.
Guide project selection, maintain oversight of the research portfolio, and ensure the Hub's long-term sustainability.
Serve as a public-facing ambassador, representing the Hub both nationally and internationally.
Foster entrepreneurial training, collaboration, and innovation to shape Ireland's next generation of life science leaders.
Required Experience & Skills 10–15 years in senior leadership within pharma/biotech, with a proven track record of securing investments and driving deal-making.
Extensive industry and investor networks, plus hands-on experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
Demonstrated strategic, financial, and people-management expertise.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, able to influence diverse stakeholders at the highest levels.
Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in leadership.
Desirable PhD in a relevant life science field (or equivalent).
Experience with academic institutions, government bodies, and early-stage drug discovery.
The ARC Hub for Therapeutics is a collaborative initiative between Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin, and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, with the aim of guiding academic projects to commercial success on a national scale, in conjunction with other Higher Education Institutions (HEI) in the Republic of Ireland.
The ARC Hub is focused on the generation of high-quality spin-outs and licenses in the fields of small molecule therapies, biological therapies, biomaterials, biomarkers with therapeutic potential and in advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs).
To achieve this objective, the ARC Hub will unite various elements of the Irish biopharma
landscape, including venture capitalists, indigenous companies, state agencies, and a network of advisors.
This broad alliance will focus on identifying, advising, and guiding academic projects towards commercial success.
Additionally, the ARC Hub will focus on developing the translational research skills of academics and postdoctoral researchers.
This will involve entrepreneurial training, engagement with external experts, and hands-on experience in taking research to market, thereby nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurial scientists, and fostering a robust and sustainable innovation ecosystem in Ireland.
