Barista/Catering AssistantJob SpecificationMAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION:Key responsibilitiesBeing punctualMaintaining strict personal and kitchen hygiene at all timesAdhering to Head Chef's daily, weekly and monthly cleaning checklists as per HACCP protocolKeeping kitchen porter area and assigned kitchen areas clean and tidy at all times.Making sure the kitchen is left in pristine condition for the next working dayHaving the ability to multi-task and move at a fast pace to keep up with the workloadReporting any hygiene issues directly to Head ChefHave all necessary documents to work in Ireland if you are from outside the EU.CUSTOMER CARETo serve, communicate and interact with customers in a friendly and efficient manner providing the highest standard of customer careAssist customers with any queries regarding fresh food department productsTo deal with customer complaints in a professional and pleasant way and refer to the department manager / store management where appropriateOPERATIONAL & STORE PRESENTATIONTo prepare and serve high quality fresh food products in line with department requirementsEnsure merchandising and product presentation is of the highest standard at all times, adhering to department planograms as advisedPrepare customer orders in a timely, cost-effective and efficient mannerTo be familiar with and implement fresh food offerings and promotionsEnsure fresh food equipment, service and storage areas are maintained to the required level of hygiene and that cleaning is carried out as per the documented programmePractice careful stock handling so as to minimise product wasteAdhere to the department portion control policyAssist with stock-taking as directed by your managerFOOD SAFETYMonitor and record critical food safety information and maintain necessary HACCP documentationComply with all current food safety regulations & control systems ensuring products are stored, cooked and served in accordance with the BWG Food Safety ManualComply with allergen information requirements including labelling and display of prepack and loose products in the departmentContribute towards the department achieving symbol group awards through the store standards programmeCooperate and provide information as requested by external auditors visiting the premisesGENERAL· To work collaboratively with management and all store employees in achieving department & store objectivesTo take responsibility for your health & safety and that of your colleagues and customers, and to take action to reduce risks and hazards· To undertake other additional duties as may be assigned by management· To participate in and complete all necessary training for the role as identified by managementPERSON SPECIFICATIONThe ideal candidate will possess the following attributesü Previous experience in fresh food/deli department would be beneficialü Knowledge in food safety, hygiene and HACCP would be beneficialü Customer driven with great communication and interpersonal skillsü Hard-working and flexible, with the ability to work both as part of a team and on own initiativeü Professional & polite manner is essentialü Committed to continually improving department standards with an attention to detailü Committed to delivering great customer experiences in a busy environmentü Enjoys working in a fast paced team environment and with a willingness to embrace new challengesJob Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: From €***** per hourBenefits:FlexitimeExperience:HACCP: 1 year (preferred)Hospitality: 1 year (preferred)Work Location: In person
